Establish your 天天吃瓜 State account in FlashLine

Your first (and very important!) step is to log in to  and establish your 天天吃瓜 State student account. FlashLine is a virtual hub of information that you will use throughout your time as a 天天吃瓜 State student.

Follow the instructions for a new user. Once logged in, you can review your student checklist. Details about logging in are below.

  1. To log in for the first time, go to , click on 鈥淪tart here鈥 after 鈥淣ew user?鈥
  2. Enter your username. This is the first part of your email address (ex. 鈥鈥 is 鈥渏anedoe鈥). Refer to your admission letter for your 天天吃瓜 State email address and your username.
  3. New students are given a temporary password when their account is created. Enter your temporary password.
  4. The format of the password is: mmmyyxxxxx where:
    1. mmm = first three letters of the birth month
    2. yy = last two digits of the birth year
    3. xxxxx = last five digits of the 天天吃瓜 State Identification Number (see admission letter).
  5. Once you have successfully logged in with this temporary password, you will be prompted to select a new password. You are also asked to provide an alternate email address and to answer challenge questions that you can use to reset your password in case it is forgotten.

Establishing your account in FlashLine allows you to access important financial aid information, the housing application and commuter exemption form, and much more.

Transfer Credit Evaluation

A Transfer Credit Evaluation is a report of how your credits transferred from your previous school(s) and is provided to all transfer students. You will receive an email notification in your kent.edu email account once your Transfer Credit Evaluation is complete. 

This is helpful to review prior to attending TKS, where you will register for classes.

How to Review

To access your report,  account and follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Student" category on the left, then expand the "Resources" section. Next, click on "Advising and GPS."
  2. In the "Advising and GPS" section, click on "GPS Audit and Plan." A new window will open.
  3. On the left side of the page, under the "GPS Audits" tab, click on "What-If."
  4. Under the "What-If" blue bar, choose the following options in the corresponding drop-down boxes:
    1. Level: Undergraduate
    2. Degree: Transfer Articulation
    3. Catalog: your catalog year
  5. Above the "What-If" blue bar, click the "Process What-If" button.
  6. Your transfer evaluation will open.
  7. If you have trouble accessing your FlashLine account, call 330-672-HELP for assistance.
Learn about financial aid and scholarships

ScholarshipUniverse is your hub for finding and applying for scholarships, with new opportunities added daily. It matches you with both internal (天天吃瓜 State-specific) and external scholarships. Internal scholarship deadlines are between Feb. 1 and March 1, 2025, while external deadlines vary鈥攂e sure to track them carefully.

Apply for housing or submit exemption form

You can apply to live in one of our 20+ residence halls and several Living-Learning Programs (programs where students with similar interests live together) beginning Oct. 15 for incoming spring students and Feb. 1 for incoming fall students in your .

If you plan to commute, you will need to submit a commuter exemption form in your beginning Oct. 15 for incoming spring students and Feb. 1 for incoming fall students.

Register for Transfer 天天吃瓜 State (TKS)

What is Transfer 天天吃瓜 State (TKS)?

Transfer 天天吃瓜 State (TKS) is your required orientation experience where you will meet with your academic advisor to register for classes, learn about campus resources and so much more. You can register for your preferred TKS date in your .

Registration opens Oct. 15 for incoming spring students and Feb. 1 for incoming fall students. TKS is a required orientation program where you will meet with your academic advisor and schedule all your classes.

Placement Testing Before Attending TKS

You must complete any and all placement testing at least three days before attending TKS or before meeting your academic advisor. Information on "ALEKS," the mathematics placement assessment can be found here. Information on the foreign language placement assessment can be found here.

Pay your $95 enrollment fee in your applicant portal

Confirm your attendance by paying the $95 Transfer Enrollment Fee online through your .

Review financial aid offer and financial aid checklist

You will be notified when you can view and accept decline or reduce your financial aid awards (including federal aid, state aid and university scholarships) in .

  • First-time federal loan borrowers: Sign the and complete . You must complete these to receive federal aid. During entrance counseling, you'll learn about direct loans, budgeting, repayment options and your rights as a borrower. In order to use your federal student aid for non-institutional charges, complete your Title IV authorization.
  • Returning federal loan borrowers: Monitor federal loan borrowing, view loan history and find servicer information on . Report outside scholarships, awards and other tuition assistance you are bringing to 天天吃瓜 State on the Offer tab of your Financial Aid Dashboard in .

After completing all of the above steps, you are now a confirmed 天天吃瓜 State student. Congratulations!

There are a few more things you need to do before the semester starts:

  • Submit your final transcripts and test scores. If you had in-progress coursework or have completed additional classes since your initial transcript was submitted, forward your final transcripts to the Admissions Office.
  • Register for Selective Service. If you are an Ohio resident male over the age of 18, register for selective service.
  • Review and complete mandatory immunizations. You can find more information on our webpage here.
  • Get your 天天吃瓜 State ID, FLASHcard. View instructions here for uploading your photo and picking up your FLASHcard. Your FLASHcard provides access to your meal plan, libraries, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and athletic events. It can also be used to make purchases on and off campus.
  • Parking Permit To find out which parking permit is best for you, visit the parking services website.
  • Request your chosen name. We recognize that some students use a name other than their legal name to identify themselves. We recommend you do this before arriving on campus. You can do this by logging in to and following the steps below:
    • Select "Student" in the left-hand column.
    • Under "Student," select "Resources."
    • Under "Resources," select "Requests and Authorizations."
    • The webpage will be displayed; select "Chosen Name Request."

After completing these steps, stay up to date with your personalized checklist in FlashLine and continue to check your personal and kent.edu email.

Move in and attend KSU Kickoff activities

1. If you are living on campus, review residence hall move-in dates and details

2. Attend KSU Kickoff, an energetic, fun and unforgettable days-long welcome event leading up to the start of fall semester. Kickoff activities and events will familiarize you with the KSU community, faculty and staff, help you make new friends and prepare you for the fall semester.
