天天吃瓜

A Blueprint for Student Success

Hi, everyone! My name is Vitoria and I鈥檓 an international student from Brazil. I鈥檓 a third year student minoring in at 天天吃瓜 State, and I鈥檒l be graduating with my bachelor鈥檚 degree in 2026.

I came to 天天吃瓜 State as a part of the American Academy program, which is a partnership program between 天天吃瓜 and the Pontif铆cia Universidade Cat贸lica do Paran谩 (PUCPR), a university in Curitiba, Brazil.

In the American Academy, we have classes with 天天吃瓜 State professors who travel to Brazil for the first two years, earning our Associate of Science degree. After those two years, students then have the option to either pursue their major of choice at 天天吃瓜 State or choose to finish school in Brazil.

As an international student, leaving my home and family to pursue my dreams in the United States was initially very challenging. Adapting to so many changes鈥攁 different language, climate and culture鈥攚as difficult. Now, almost two years later, I can happily say that I feel at home

天天吃瓜 State has played a significant role in this adaptation process, helping me feel welcome, get involved and find my place at the university. And my place was at the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED).

Architecture can be a very challenging major and, being an architecture student, I do have to put a lot of time and effort into my classes, spending a lot of time in studio. It鈥檚 one of my favorite places because students can collaborate, sharing their experiences and challenges. I鈥檝e met so many incredible people in the building and even during difficult times, I never feel alone.

Because of this, I can say that my supervisors, advisors, professors and classmates have truly become a part of my life.

Along with the great environment, the college also provided me with so many opportunities and resources to get involved with the school. My passion for architecture combined with my passion for the program motivated me to apply for a job as a student assistant for the advising office at CAED. It鈥檚 been an amazing and fulfilling opportunity for me to work closely with faculty, students and staff, assisting them with whatever they might need.

I also work as a student ambassador for the architecture program, which allows me to interact with incoming students and parents, sharing my own experiences at the college. As an ambassador, I help organize, set up, and participate in various university events such as Preview KSU and open houses. During these events, I meet with prospective students and their parents, offering a student's perspective on CAED, answering their questions and serving as a resource for those interested in pursuing a career in architecture as well.

I deeply hope that my love for what I do can inspire other people to pursue their dreams.

Student organizations are also a great way to get involved, not only within the university but within your own major. I鈥檓 currently a brother and a member of the executive board at Alpha Rho Chi (APX), a professional fraternity for architecture and the allied arts.

Being a part of APX allows me to actively engage in the architecture field through academic and professional events and networking opportunities with fellow students, faculty and practicing professionals. It is an amazing opportunity to be more involved with the school, and it is a pleasure for me to be a part of this wonderful program and get to share that with students who share the same passion for architecture and design that I have.

From student organizations, employment opportunities and career fairs to social events, study abroad programs and a vibrant campus life, there are countless ways that 天天吃瓜 State creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for students. Actively engaging in these activities not only helps build lasting friendships but also allows for personal and professional development. Each unique experience contributes to a sense of belonging, which has been helping me make the most of my time here.

I do believe that anyone who鈥檚 considering attending 天天吃瓜 State is bound to find their forever home. Here, I can speak not only as an architecture student but as a Golden Flash.

Embracing all that 天天吃瓜 State has to offer will enrich your college experience in ways you never expected.

Over the past couple of years, 天天吃瓜 State has become my second home, helping me find my passion and my purpose. That鈥檚 why, to whoever considering attending 天天吃瓜 State, I鈥檇 say, you won鈥檛 regret it! Coming here was the best decision I鈥檝e ever made and I鈥檒l be forever grateful for having this experience.
