We investigate genetic basis of organismal response to novel environments. Such response generally occurs through genetic adaptation, phenotypic plasticity or combination of these two processes. We are particularly interested in exploring the relative roles of genetic adaptation and phenotypic plasticity that underly a trait evolution. We integrate a variety of interdisciplinary approaches, including comparative ‘omics’ (Genomics, Transcriptomics, Epigenomics, Metagenomics and Metabolomics) and Eco-physiology to uncover the molecular basis underlying the processes of adaptive evolution. We work with a variety of non-model systems that includes birds and mammals.
