
Trevor Williams, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at ΜμΜμ³ΤΉΟ, recently published a paper entitled βUnderstanding the Psychosis Spectrum Using a Hierarchical Model of Social Cognitionβ in the Schizophrenia Bulletin. This study investigated the link between social cognitive impairment and psychosis and other symptoms. In this study, the research team found that modeling the common overlap of social cognitive tasks may provide better insight into psychosis and other symptoms. In particular, it may be that some symptoms and disorders are related to highly specific social cognitive processes, whereas others may reflect broader social cognitive impairment.
