Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Program

Since 2020, the 天天吃瓜 State College of Public Health (CPH) has been certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing as a site for students to complete the coursework necessary to apply as a Certified Community Health Worker (C-CHW).  

A Community Health Worker (CHW) is defined by the American Public Health Association as 鈥渁 frontline public health worker who is a trusted member and/or has an unusually close understanding of the community served." Community health workers are trained public health workers who serve as a bridge between communities, health care systems, and state health departments.
