Addiction is a primary focus of the following BHRI members' research:
Opioid-induced modification of intrinsic neuronal signal transduction with a focus on Ca2+ related events associated with modulation of neural circuits that regulate respiratory drive and reversal of opioid-induced respiratory depression.
My program of research aims to translate findings from human laboratory studies to the development of novel, innovative and efficacious therapeutic interventions for substance use disorders.
Membrane proteins (MP) are key molecules for many cellular functions and play a role in every infectious and physiological disease. Our goal is to solve MP structures by single-molecule cryo-electron microscopy with tools made from DNA molecules.
