Connecting Students With Emergency and Long-Term Sustainable Access to Nutritious Foods
The CARES Center works to support food security for 天天吃瓜 State students. We work collaboratively with students and campus and community partners with the goal of connecting students' long-term sustainable food resources that meet their current needs. We assist students facing a range of difficulties, from immediate emergency need to ongoing hardships accessing sustainable nutritious food.
Flashes Food Pantry

Spring 2025 Pantry Guidelines:
- Students must complete the Pantry Request Form and Agreement before making a reservation.
- Flashes Food Pantry Reservation Calendar Link will be sent to students within 72 business hours of the completion of the CARES Center Pantry Request Form and Agreement.
- Please do not share your calendar link with other students.
- Students must be registered in at least one course for the spring 25 semester.
- Students must bring their personal photo ID. Students are not permitted to utilize the photo ID belonging to another individual.
- Reservations can be made for
- Traditional Pantry Hours: Mondays 11 AM to 4 PM and Tuesdays Noon to 3 PM.
- Students have 5 minutes to shop, leaving 5 minutes for check-out and 5 minutes for the Pantry's team to restock and clean between visits.
- Students receive 15 points for dry goods and items limits for fruits and veggies to use in the pantry.
- Pop-Up Pantry Hours: Various Wednesdays at 11 AM while supplies last
- Produce-Only Pickup Hours:
- Reservations Thursdays 10 AM to 4 PM
- Walk-ins Fridays 10 AM to 4 PM.
- Traditional Pantry Hours: Mondays 11 AM to 4 PM and Tuesdays Noon to 3 PM.
- Please remember to be on time. If students are 5 minutes or later their reservation will be canceled.
- Reservations can be canceled via the confirmation email.
- Please remember to cancel your reservation if you are unable to come to the Pantry.
- This will ensure another student can visit during that time.
- Reservations can be canceled via the confirmation email.
- Students who do not show up for their reservation and do not cancel their reservations before their reservation date will not be able to make another reservation for the month.
- Students who make a reservation without completing a pantry request and agreement will have their reservations canceled.
Flashes Fighting Hunger Weekly Food Pantry
Flashes Fighting Hunger is a student-powered and volunteer-driven organization dedicated to reducing food waste and promoting food security. They provide fresh items and baked goods for Fresh Food Fridays at the Flashes' Food Pantry. Follow this link to connect with Flashes Fighting Hunger to learn more about their many initiatives.
Swipe Out Hunger Emergency Meal Swipes
Through a partnership with and University Culinary Services, students can donate up to two (2) meal swipes to our virtual emergency meal swipe bank through the student dashboard tab on . Students in need of emergency meal swipes can then request up to two (2) Swipe Out Hunger emergency meal swipes on per academic semester. These emergency meal swipes can be used at Eastway and the Design Innovation Hub dining locations. Students can receive only two (2) emergency meal swipes per academic semester.
