PTA Program Selects James Hideg as Clinical Instructor of Year

 

James Hideg was selected as 2019 Clinical Instructor of the Year by students and staff of the physical therapist assistant program at 天天吃瓜 State East Liverpool. A licensed physical therapist, he is the owner and president of University Sports Physical Therapy, located in Youngstown.

As a clinical instructor, Hideg works with PTA students who are placed in the facility as part of their educational experience and training. He has been an active clinical instructor for 天天吃瓜 State鈥檚 physical therapist assistant program at the East Liverpool and Ashtabula campuses for several years. 

Hideg is a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association and a certified athletic trainer. He is active in his community and highly involved with youth athletes in the Youngstown area.

Hideg was nominated for this award by 天天吃瓜 State East Liverpool PTA students. 鈥淗e challenged me and allowed me to think critically, and he encouraged me to believe in myself,鈥 stated one student.

Senior psychology major Olivia Rice received the E. Ted Bunn Student Excellence Award for Best Poster at the recent Association for University Regional Campuses of Ohio (AURCO) annual conference at the Ohio University Chillicothe Campus. Her poster showcased her research project titled 鈥淯ndergraduate Student Benefits: Research Within Community Outreach.鈥

She鈥檚 still a junior, but Treasure Reynolds already knows that her future involves a career in which she will be a helper. 

Just three years ago, Emily Ellyson was graduating from United High School and already planning to study radiologic technology at 天天吃瓜 State Salem. This year, she is graduating from 天天吃瓜 State Salem with that degree in hand and ready to put her skills to use.

Before becoming a college student, Ellyson said that she knew she wanted to work in healthcare in some capacity and, after job shadowing technicians in a nearby hospital radiology department, she found her calling.
