1. Policy statement. As the university continues to expand its relationships with educational institutions both in the United States and abroad, it is important to formalize such agreements in order to ensure uniformity across multi-department endeavors. Therefore, it is required that all new or renewal agreements with universities outside of the United States and/or institutions of higher education in foreign countries are reviewed and approved according to the terms set forth in this policy.
2. Scope.

1. Equal opportunity policy.
   1. In academic and student programs. It is the policy of this university that there shall be no unlawful discrimination against any student or applicant for admission as a student because of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, military or veteran status. Such policy shall apply to, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: recruiting, admission, access to programs, financial aid, and social, recreational and health programs.

2. Employee code of conduct. Every employee of ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï state university is required to comply with the policies and guidelines established for employees, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

1. Emeritus/emerita status may be conferred, following appropriate review and recommendation, upon faculty members and staff at the time of their official retirement from full-time employment.

   1. Preparedness to cope with the effects of a disaster includes many diverse but interrelated elements, which must be woven into an integrated emergency management system involving all departments of the university, other public and support agencies, plus the individual citizen.
   2. The emergency management plan is a statement of policy and procedures regarding emergency management and assigns tasks and responsibilities to university officials specifying, and in some cases, redefining their roles during emergency or disaster situations.

1. Purpose. The university recognizes the exercise of the rights of expression, conscience, affiliation and peaceful assemblage.

In emergency circumstances and after declaration of a state of emergency as authorized by House Bill 1219 of the 108th General Assembly, the president of the university may suspend all or part of the university operations. Such suspension may exceed four days only upon authorization of the board or, if a quorum cannot be consulted, the chairperson thereof.
