Accomplished sociologist, TV host, podcaster, author ����Թ� State alumna Bertice Berry, Ph.D.,used her alma mater as a familiar setting for her book "BlackWorld," which explores a "unique corner of heaven" where the living can visit with and learn from the deceased. She also some of her memories of ����Թ� State and personal insights into the university's place in history. 

A dramatic, 15-foot-tall bronze sculpture stands on the Lefton Esplanade near the intersection of East Main Street and Haymaker Parkway. It’s a gift from a ����Թ� State alumnus and outstanding supporter of the university. 

A popular place for students to visit when the weather is warmer, the Behind The Brain Plaza behind Merrill Hall has been covered in snow and ice for most of February.

Student performers are working on final rehearsals for “The Wiz,” which opens on Feb. 21 and runs through March 2 at ����Թ� State’s E. Turner Stump Theatre.  

The inaugural Biennial Alumni Exhibition, currently on display in two galleries inside ����Թ� State's Center for the Visual Arts, opened on Jan. 17 and will end on Feb. 21.

Feb. 10-14 is I Heart Travel Week at ����Թ� State. There are international activities scheduled on each day, culminating on Friday with the Global Safari Fest.

But what is the draw to vinyl over more accessible and portable media such as MP3s and streaming services for Gen Z?

Her Fashion Fundamentals class was recently tasked with creating shoe designs using an AI platform.

In getting into the role of the lead character in "Trial By Fire," a play about banned books and activism, a ����Թ� State student keenly feels the connections between the themes in the play and the university’s history of activism. 

The School of Fashion is globally recognized for its exceptional programming. It provides students with opportunities to apply their skills in real-world settings, but it takes awareness and nerve for students to recognize a golden opportunity to showcase those skills. Jesus Baldrich, a sophomore fashion merchandising major, saw one such chance and took it.

In the fall, when you hear the ����Թ� State Marching Golden Flashes practicing, does it sound like it’s getting louder? It is. The band and the programs are growing.
