How to get started as an unregistered user

  1. Learn and understand facility policies
    1. Policies and paperwork if you have not done so already:
      天天吃瓜 Facility: /amlci/about-amlci-characterization-facility
      Facility policy: /amlci/facility-policy
  2. Get familiar with the facility environment (there is a 3D tour)
    1. /amlci/characterization-facility
  3. Get familiar with Infinity software
  4. Submit an access request to the AMLCI Characterization Facility through Infinity. This can be done anytime. No training is required.
  5. Submit an access request to an instrument through Infinity after getting approval from your advisor/PI. The request will be proved only after training.
  6. Download/fill/sign/turn-in training sheets (for example, basic SEM and/or basic TEM)
    1. /amlci/rates-download-center
  7. Get familiar with the staff and their contact details (email, phone numbers, etc.)
    1. Dr. Min Gao (rooms LCM-106a, LCM-106c, LCM-108): mgao@kent.edu; 330-274-6689 (cell phone)
    2. Dr Mojtaba Rajabi (rooms LCM-106b, LCM-108a, LCM-109, ISB-076E) mrajabi@kent.edu

Notes:

  • You must be trained for each instrument you wish to use
  • Your PI must pay for some services, consult /amlci/rates-download-center for more information
