ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï

In the College of the Arts we are makers, doers and trailblazers. The work of students, faculty and guest artists encompasses a broad range of visual, performing and design arts. Our concert halls, theatres and galleries bring the creative collaboration of students and faculty to the mainstream of campus and community cultural life. Professional internships and study away/study abroad opportunities and other off-campus experiences enhance career entry in every area of the arts.

These varied resources, along with ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Core courses, provide a professional, hands-on studio-based experience with a strong liberal arts foundation. The cultural diversity of our students and faculty, the professional collaborations maintained by our schools and the enlivening environment of a comprehensive teaching and research university allow us to fulfill our mission to empower global leaders who ignite creativity, inspire discovery and transform all lives through the arts.

Your support for the College of the Arts will empower our students to transform the world and lead as innovators and global changemakers advancing creative and collaborative culture.

In order to prepare our students for the 21st century with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to become active, creative professionals, the College of the Arts is focusing on these key priorities:

  • Unrestricted Scholarships – There are so many students who have the talent and drive to succeed, but who lack financial means. Your contributions can change the course of a student’s life, and help the College of the Arts continue to be a place where great ideas, great works and great people are cultivated.

  • Study Away/Study Abroad Scholarships – Because global links are important to our student’s education, the college offers multiple opportunities for them to be involved in international programs. Study tours to Europe and Asia are offered on a regular basis. An approved study-away experience is required for all fashion students prior to graduation. These opportunities are also highly encouraged for students in art, music and theatre and dance.

  • Global Mobility Opportunities – Our students and faculty engage with creative activities and research across the nation and internationally. By increasing our ability to support all individuals in the College to take part in global experiences, from conference participation to learning and research opportunities, we can empower and enable a high-quality educational environment for all.

  • Endowed Employee Talent – Great universities have great employees. ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State’s rising stature among the nation’s best public research universities depends on the success and achievements of our faculty and staff. Endowing chairs, professorships and other positions elevates and supports employee talent, providing perpetual support for our most distinguished employees and playing an important role in the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty who are highly sought after.

  • Named Spaces – Each School has their own unique spaces suitable to their creative needs and endeavors. These areas are available for naming by individuals, in memory or honor of a family, business or other organization. Opportunities range from offices and conference rooms to lecture theaters, galleries, studios and labs and support the College to have modern spaces.

Each of our schools within the college produce graduates in a variety of degrees that are poised to serve as global changemakers in an array of creative fields, ranging from visual artists and art educators, merchandisers and fashion designers, music educators and professional musicians, musical theatre performers, actors, theatre technology professionals and dancers.
