The ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 11:15 a.m. in Room 306 of the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Student Center on the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus to consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions and new business. All actions of the Board of Trustees will be taken at this business meeting. Trustees will retire into executive session at 8:30 a.m.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State stands in solidarity with members of our LGBTQ+ community. The recent mass shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has left many of us angry, grief-stricken and sad. This recent shooting is part of a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ violence across the nation and around the world. We condemn this latest act of hate against the LGBTQ+ community.

This email is to inform you that wastewater samples taken from your residence hall continue to show a significant increase in the COVID-19 virus.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï invites all to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and attend the university’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at Risman Plaza on the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï launched its monthlong celebration of philanthropy, Giving Tuesday, on Nov. 1. As ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State’s most generous annual tradition, Giving Tuesday encourages the Golden Flash community to reflect on their experiences and help make the world Forever Brighter by shining their light of support on ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State students.

Eric Garner, a teacher who was able to shield his students from harm during the 2018 Parkland, Florida, high school shooting, urged journalism and media students to cover tragedies with empathy during an interactive discussion at the May 4 Visitors Center Reflection Gallery on Oct. 25. 

Ava Latham created a sensory room at her former high school that garnered her a coveted Gold Award from Girl Scouts, the organization’s highest honor and the pinnacle of achievements for Latham, who has been a member since the second grade. 

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï’s Brain Health Research Institute (BHRI) will be welcoming a bevy of accomplished alumni back to the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus when it hosts the 10th Annual Neuroscience Symposium on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27 and 28. 

The ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, which is located on the second floor of the University Library. The sole purpose of the special meeting is to consider a proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement between ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State and the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Employees Local 153, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Why walk and look at all of the beautiful fall colors on campus when you could fly? Paul Cinko, a senior flight instructor from ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State, took us on a tour around campus to look at the fall foliage from 3,000 feet. Originally from Portage Lakes, Cinko plans to fly commercial planes one day.
