Dolores Noll, Ph.D., ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Professor Emeritus of English and pioneer for LGBTQ rights and people, accepts the university’s inaugural Diversity Trailblazer Award in 2010.

Born five decades ago as the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Gay Liberation Front at ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï, PRIDE! ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï is the country’s oldest continuously operating LGBTQ student organizations. This campus organization owes its existence in large part to the boldness and courage of one person, Dolores Noll, Ph.D.

Andrew Snyder, research program coordinator for ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï’s College of Public Health, is leading the first comprehensive Greater Akron LGBTQ+ specific Community Needs Assessment.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï has partnered with Greater Akron community organizations to conduct the first comprehensive and specific LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment (CNA). Efforts of this assessment focus on producing a better-informed public health system and improving the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community members.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï faculty, staff members and students took part in Saturday’s Equality March, which kicked off the inaugural Akron Pride 2017 event.
