Randale L. Richmond will lead ����Թ� State Athletics through July 1, 2028, as vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics, in accordance with a contract amendment announced by ����Թ� President Todd Diacon.

The protected prairie surrounding ����Թ�’s Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Tuesday, April 25, starting around 9 a.m., to allow for new growth during the summer season.

Future Flash Days, when admitted students and their families visit the ����Թ� Campus, enjoyed another successful year for 2023. Nearly 1,300 students from 24 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, experienced what it is like to be a Golden Flash.

Innovation Day 2023 was a collaborative effort of the Northeast Ohio Public University Research Alliance (NEO-PURA) comprised of ����Թ�, Cleveland State University, Northeast Ohio Medical University, The University of Akron and Youngstown State University. 

The ����Թ� Board of Trustees has approved awarding Roe Green, MA ’80, a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree recognizing her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts not only in Northeast Ohio, but also across the nation and around the world.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 22, at 9:50 a.m. All ����Թ� campuses will be participating in this test. We will broadcast a recorded tornado education message through university speaker systems and IP (Internet Protocol) phones throughout buildings on all ����Թ� State campuses.

This is only a test of the mass notification systems, and no shelter-in-place activities are required.

The ����Թ� Campus tests the tornado sirens on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. and on the third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

After living in various other locations, ����Թ� State staff and faculty make ����Թ� their home because it's a community with small town charm and a flourishing downtown. 

President Todd Diacon took the opportunity to make the presentation “����Թ� State Works” at the Board of Trustees meeting, which was held at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. The presentation illustrated how ����Թ� State prepares its students for job readiness. Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education Randy Gardner and the new President of the Inter-University Council Laura Lanese attended the Board of Trustees meeting.
