ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï’s Angela Neal-Barnett has been working diligently to build up the Spirit of Motherhood program with the goal of reducing trauma and stress symptoms experienced by its pregnant Black mother participants. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation recently awarded the program another $300,000 to continue its work over the next three years.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 20, at 9:50 a.m. All ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï campuses will be participating in this test. We will broadcast a recorded tornado education message through university speaker systems and IP (Internet Protocol) phones throughout buildings on all ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State campuses.

This is only a test of the mass notification systems, and no shelter-in-place activities are required.

The ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus tests the tornado sirens on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. and on the third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State has pledged to offer a host of benefits to Notre Dame College students who have accrued 60 or more credit hours. For those with fewer than 60 credits, the invitation is extended to apply to ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State as transfer students, with a commitment to facilitating a smooth transition.

The ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Board of Trustees approved the establishment of four new majors during its regular quarterly meeting held March 6 on the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus. The Board also approved recommended actions for the East Main Street Project in ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï and a naming action.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï’s College of Nursing Assistant Professor Janet Reed, Ph.D., wanted to know how nursing students’ biggest fears about going into the nursing profession would translate into AI-generated art. The resulting images that portray a physical representation of the students’ worries about their future profession are prompting discussions.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Police investigated an unverified threat at ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Hall that was received this morning. University police worked with federal and other law enforcement partners to assess the threat. Based on the investigation, police have determined that the threat is not credible. The threat is similar to those received recently at other schools and institutions. All classes and activities on campus will continue as scheduled.

A police chase of a stolen car ended in a multicar accident just before 3 p.m. Sunday on East Main Street along the northern edge of the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus. Portage County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended the teen driver near White Hall as he tried to flee the scene on foot. Medical units were called to treat those who were involved in the crash.

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted in the aftermath of the incident.
